You can read more about the 106 runs available, 70 inbound chutes over 2,750 acres and the Rockies’ highest vertical at 1,260 metres here [LINK]. But this instructor’s course is all about taking you to another level, both with your ski and snowboard skills and your ability to teach others to become better.
What the papers said about Kicking Horse
CNN said 'Best resort to go powder skiing in the world!'
'Some of the wildest skiing in Canada' The Telegraph
The Globe & Mail said 'One of the newest and most exciting downhill resorts in North America'
Having travelled across British Columbia, Kicking Horse is not the obvious choice but it’s definitely the right one – you won’t find it on the radar of the UK package holiday market. So let’s spell out a few facts:
• Thanks to the speed of the lifts and the quality of the steep, uncrowded slopes it’s possible to ski 32,000 ft in a day!
• We’ve got as experienced and qualified instructors as you could find anywhere [LINK] (one of ‘em literally wrote the book)
• Kicking Horse is set in the most beautiful surrounding, nestled in between five of Canada’s 42 national parks: Glacier, Yoho, Kootenay, Banff and Jasper
• Great all-round mountain with advanced to expert challenges and backcountry skiing
• Kicking Horse was originally only accessible to expensive heli-skiing but the last decade has seen the mountain develop to its all-round capability
• There’s on-mountain dining and the highest restaurant in Canada at 7,700ft
• The strong pound makes purchasing with the Canadian dollar inexpensive
• There’s no language difficulty in town or on the slopes
Kicking Horse boasts a modern, well-designed lift and gondola system to see skiers and boarders to their start points as quickly as possible. This gives everyone more precious nonstop ski time rather than time-wasting lift queues. It’s fairly unique in that its trails are very uncrowded. Sure every resort says that but you’ll definitely have plenty of room to learn your teaching craft and hone your ski/board skills.
As they say in the resort 'one good turn deserves another'. And another, and another…
